I’ve got a piece out for a great new website on National Security.
I make the basic policy argument that a US prioritization of economic empowerment policies in the Middle East is ultimately the best way to combat the inter-related problems of the EU migration crisis and the rising appeal of Jihadism.
Making ec dev a priority is not the same as the skill to implement and adapt worthy strategies and programs. Current efforts fall far short of approaches that are built on collaborative synergies across sectors and disciplines that address cultural as well as social constraints of rethinking value of work.

Really interesting stuff from an expert (as in someone who has actually lived in the Mideast, speaks Arabic, and is a free thinker). Check out his website for more. I have the pleasure of knowing the proprietor of the website and fully understand that he is truly knowledgable in this area.
